BlackCard: with people not for people!

The BlackCard: 

 The BlackCard’s approach requires strengthening ethical behaviour enabling all people to understand and undertake respectful relationships with each other.

 The Blackcard organisation has finalised their first ever Cultural Capability Framework which will guide the Commonwealth Bank Group. The framework is based on Aboriginal Terms of Reference (ATR) guided by these amazing Blackcard Elders, Aunty Mary Graham and Aunty Lilla Watson.

 Amanda and I did the 2 day Blackcard Course (accredited) in 2014 and I highly recommend it to anyone keen to progress their cultural advocacy or cultural responsiveness journey!

The Start of a new Journey in 2015

Starting our new Journey: It is October 2015. We have just completed a small workshop with close work friends and family to explore health needs, the gap and aboriginal culture. Amanda Jackson has a background in Law and is passionate about Human Rights.  Kerrie Thomsen has a background in Occupational Therapy. We are passionate about "community centred practice" and doing something about First Peoples wellness and poor health outcomes through Education, Connection and one day at a time if we have too. A one sentence summary: This means breaking down the barriers for First People's to regain quality of life, health and wellness!
