The Start of a new Journey in 2015

Starting our new Journey:

It is October 2015.
We have just completed a small workshop with close work friends and family to explore health needs, the gap and aboriginal culture.

Amanda Jackson has a background in Law and is passionate about Human Rights.
Kerrie Thomsen has a background in Occupational Therapy.

We are passionate about "community centred practice" and doing something about First Peoples wellness and poor health outcomes through Education, Connection and one day at a time if we have too.

A one sentence summary:

This means breaking down the barriers for First People's to regain quality of life, health and wellness!

Also there is this short video clip (click here) which shows in a pictorial way what we created as the new concept and approach of Respect Centred Practice.

We have enjoyed the journey to date culminating with this workshop but we have a lot more to do to spread the message on this alternative Model which fits our Aboriginal Peoples Frame of Reference.

Please note it is "Respect" rather than "respect" that we want to emphasise in our new Model of Care.

Thank you
Kerrie Thomsen
